This dinner debate is organised within the context of celebrating 50 years of EU-Korea cooperation. A rapidly evolving social and industrial context is bringing the EU and Korea ever closer together to jointly address social, economic and environmental challenges. The Horizon 2020 research programme that will run from 2014 to 2020 will aim to develop partnerships in key industrial and scientific areas. Eureka is one of the success stories of welcoming international cooperation.
In addition to celebrating the success of EU-Korea cooperation, the dinner debate will aim to evaluate how this cooperation can be further developed and strengthened. More specifically, it will address crucial questions such as what the next steps should be and how we can compete while at the same time achieve scientific excellence to the benefit of both sides.
